Kathy never would have thought that the car her grandfather sent to pick her up would also be picking Bertie up too.<\/p>\n

Jennifer nodded, \u201cI will go and get someone to arrange a room for you now.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bertie started to walk towards the study as if he had been there before. Kathy watched the back of him as he walked away; she never expected that what he had just said was true.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes.\u201d Kathy\u2019s face was rather indifferent, as she thought about how she would have to be living with him while she stayed here; it made her feel very uncomfortable.<\/p>\n
Jennifer seemed to be able to sense Kathy\u2019s emotions and therefore went to lightly pat Kathy\u2019s shoulders and said, \u201cBertie\u2019s father was very close with your grandfather, therefore that child used to often come to our home. Because of this your grandfather regarded him as half a son.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kathy really was not interested in anything to do with Bertie, and therefore her face remained disinterested.<\/p>\n
As she went up to her room, she didn\u2019t expect that Bertie would be staying in the room opposite her.<\/p>\n
Kathy ignored him.<\/p>\n
However Bertie stepped forward blocked her way and asked, \u201cTonight I will be cooking something, what do you like to eat?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhatever.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAre you not able to be a little nicer with me? I will be staying here for quite some time; therefore you can\u2019t just keep brushing me away giving me the cold shoulder.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kathy put on a serious expression and looked at Bertie, \u201cSo, let\u2019s both just leave each other alone then.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSuch a cruel woman, can\u2019t we at least be friends?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMr. Marshall, could it be that you have no other friends?\u201d Kathy asked very displeased.<\/p>\n

When Jennifer helped Zack to sit down, Kathy had just brought the vegetable dish over to the table.<\/p>\n
\u201cKathy, why are you preparing the meal?\u201d Jennifer was unhappy by this.<\/p>\n
\u201cI recently let some of the servants take a vacation, to let them enjoy their youth and be busy.\u201d Zack said.<\/p>\n
\u201cGrandfather, I was happy to do this.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jennifer paused and her gaze fell onto Kathy and Bertie.<\/p>\n
\u201cBertie, tonight you have worked hard and prepared this meal for us, thank you.\u201d Jennifer was always polite to Bertie.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause of Kathy\u2019s help it was no problem at all.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kathy lowered her eyes and didn\u2019t say anything.<\/p>\n
The relationship between Zack and Bertie seemed to be a very close one. Although they mainly just discuss business related matters, the two of them are long time old family friends, and began cooperating with each other long ago. Bertie also understood Zack\u2019s temperament and preferences very well, so it could be said the atmosphere at the table was very harmonious and friendly.<\/p>\n
\u201cKathy, how about I entrust this project to you?\u201d<\/p>\n
Kathy paused since just now she had not been paying attention to what the two of them had been saying.<\/p>\n
