Deanna’s POV:<\/p>\n
One evening, after Sunny turned a month old, I leaned back on the couch, watching flowers bloom wildly in the yard outside the window.<\/p>\n
Luis sat beside me with a few documents on his lap, but he wasn’t reading them.<\/p>\n
He set them aside and turned to me, his voice calm and careful. “There’s something. We talked about it before.”<\/p>\n
I understood right away.<\/p>\n
Luis and Kathryn had mentioned it earlier. Once the baby was born, we’d have a proper mating ceremony.<\/p>\n
“You’re still thinking about that?” I asked softly, warmth spreading through my chest.<\/p>\n
I knew he’d been busy. He was caring for our newborn pup, cleaning up Grant’s remaining forces in Euron, and handling the Westwind Pack under Harry.<\/p>\n
“I never forgot.” Luis took my hand, his thumb unconsciously rubbing the simple diamond ring on my finger.<\/p>\n
“Things were messy before. Now…” He paused before continuing, “I want to give you what you deserve.”<\/p>\n
My heart trembled slightly. I hesitated before saying, “Will it be too much trouble? Sunny is still so small, and the pack has a lot going on.”<\/p>\n
I wasn’t refusing. I was just stating the obvious concerns.<\/p>\n
Luis shook his head, his gaze firm. “No. We’ll hold it at the estate. I want the entire Mooncrown Pack to know who you are. It won’t be overly grand, but…”<\/p>\n
He paused again. “Every important step will be included. Especially the mark.”<\/p>\n
He said that word very softly, but his fingers tightened around mine. The mark was the final bond between werewolf mates, sealed by blood and oath, almost like minds linking together.<\/p>\n
For us, it meant everything.<\/p>\n
I looked into his eyes and saw expectation, seriousness, and a faint trace of tension.<\/p>\n
“Okay.” I nodded, smiling gently. “I’ll follow your lead.”<\/p>\n
“Change your clothes. We’re going out,” he said, gently taking Sunny, who had just fallen asleep, and handing her to the nanny.<\/p>\n
“Where?” I blinked, surprised. He hadn’t mentioned any plans.<\/p>\n
“You’ll see.”<\/p>\n
I didn’t ask anything more. I went to our room and changed into a simple sweater and long pants.<\/p>\n
About 20 minutes later, the car stopped in front of a small garden villa. It wasn’t large, but tall trees surrounded it, making it feel quiet and hidden.<\/p>\n
A well-dressed middle-aged woman stood at the door. When she saw Luis, she smiled warmly. “Everything is ready. Please come in.”<\/p>\n
She looked familiar, though I couldn’t place her right away.<\/p>\n
